She had always been persistent.
She knew how to control multiple plastic tubes.
She told them this was not the end.
But back that hospital she flew.
Even with all the coiling tubes,
Even with all her doctors,
Back to the hospital she flew-
How could she break this chain?
Even with her doctors and nurses
Telling the sons and daughters this was the end,
She fought the growing chain- nearly two years strong-
Yet with the constant threat of an end.
All her children, forced to believe this was the end,
But she refused, always fighting what she didn’t believe.
Adding a link to that chain- back to the hospital,
Continuing the battle for life.
Grandmother always refused the end,
She said this was not it for her.
Continuing the battle for life,
She had always been a persistent fighter.
Then it was the end, one final link to the chain.
My Grandma lost the fight.
